Podcasts

I listen to quite a few podcasts during the day, which are quite nice to listen to as an alternative to music. Many of which are themselves associated to blogs. Unfortunately, it is unreasonable for me to link to every podcast I listen to, so I have picked a few which are on different things and put a few links on the right. I have also done a little run down below of them.

Fighting Talk - Sports Punditry from the BBC, I believe its in its 4th series and is extremely succesfull. It has to be my favourite and certainly, if you count from when I was listening on the radio, is the longest one I have been listening to.

Weekly Anime Review - The best review podcast for Anime, I listen to a few others but this guys views really do count and is aknowledged by alot of the other anime podcasts.

Ask a Ninja - Want a laugh, certainly the funniest podcast ever and its in video form. THe blog also contains videos from fans, including the sexy female ninja.

Josh in Japan - Life living in Japan from a western point of view. I must warn you, he does come off strongly as American but this is partly why its so entertaining, he will often just tell it how it is without hesitation. Unlike the others I have only listened to a few so far. But it is very infrmative.

TWiT - They actually do several podcasts that I am subscribed to. 'TWiT' is very much a run down of general news topics of the week, and I beleive you can check up on what they are going to talk about in advance. 'Security Now' is a bit more advance though is interesting and informative and adds to the knowledge of comptuing and programming I have. 'Inside the Net' is very much more applicable to internet life, I have only listened to a few but they already did shows on Firefox, Flock and YouTube.

Here is a pic of all of the podcasts I am subscribed to, obviously, there are some on there which I will only listen to if I feel like. I find that the iTunes software seems to work well though it does seem to have problems and keeps on crashing. I have tried some alternative like FireAnt and Juice but I just didn't like the interface as much.

I am trying to get away from the template design a bit and so I am ideally looking to designing a banner for the top (any ideas or offers apreciated). I would also like to change the colour scheme a bit aswell. All will be done it time. Another probem I have encountered, though minor, is that the spellchecker just seems to flag up popular words such as 'blog' and 'podcast' and 'colour'. C'mon, I am sure that these words were just minor oversights.

Problems

Less than an hour and I am already having trouble. Seems I have to learn a code to adjust anything away from the templates. Also, I hve to keep on clearing my cache to see any new changes I make :-(.

Anyway, I have some ideas as to what I can put up. I will try and even it out to one post a day rather then do everything at once and then run out.

Mission Statement / Aims

This is me
<----

Main Aims
Report on the world and provide my own unique perspective.

It will probably be a few rants, a few reviews and a few discrete comments. Possibly on anime, video games, news, and the world in general (real world is scary).

If I do comment on anime, I will not be ruining thing with
* endless screen dumps
* the entire plot of an episode, but written out in words
My theory being that if you are capable of reading then you are capable of watching anime and making your own opinions.

Of course, any opinion other than mine is wrong.

Also, I intend not to use any of those swear words thingymebobs. The way I see it is the English language is full of useful words. There must be a certain combination that is able to get over my feeling in a less offensive way.

As this is my first experience at any blogging it may seem a bit amateurish. I haven't really read many alternate blogs and am not used to the software used to produce them. That is why I use blogger, its cheap and easy. Maybe in the future I will invest money.
